Why Teseco Exists
Teseco is a small independent blog that looks at three subjects which rarely share a page: environmental services, energy recovery and contemporary art. It is written for curious readers, students, local administrators, sustainability-minded professionals and gallery-goers who like to see how material, waste and creative work connect.
The reader we have in mind
Some visitors arrive wanting to understand what happens to a bin of mixed waste after collection. Others come from the art side and wonder why so many artists now work with salvaged matter, heat, light and discarded objects. Teseco tries to be useful to both without assuming specialist knowledge.
Three subjects
- Environmental Services explains collection, sorting, remediation, site cleanup and the everyday work that keeps towns and industrial areas manageable.
- Energy Recovery looks at how heat, gas and electricity can be drawn from materials that would otherwise be lost, and at the limits and trade-offs of each method.
- Contemporary Art follows exhibitions, installations and artists whose practice touches on matter, consumption, landscape and the built environment.
How pieces are put together
The approach is practical and plain-spoken. Technical statements are checked against public agency guidance, standards bodies, published studies and the documents that operators themselves release. For art, we rely on exhibition texts, catalogues and what can be seen first hand or verified with the institution.
Where figures differ by region or method, the article says so. Topics move quickly, so pages are revisited and revised when rules, technology or exhibition details change.
